What we liked
- + Undeodorized and unrefined per the listing, so it keeps the natural chocolate aroma some makers want in a bar
- + Listed as 100 percent pure and never processed with chemicals, with no additives or preservatives
- + 1 lb is a workable amount for several batches, and the listing names soap making as an intended use
Trade-offs
- - One of the pricier 1 lb options, so compare the cost per ounce before buying
- - The listing does not say whether it comes as wafers, chunks or a block, or where the cocoa is grown
